Frequently Asked QuestionsFrequently asked questions regarding our process for accepting invitations and our requirements. Q. How do I book a Stormie Sheldon event? A. If you have a particular date in mind, check the website calendar by clicking the Tour button on the website for Stormie’s current list of engagements. If nothing is scheduled on a particular date, Stormie may be available. Please download the “Invitation Worksheet” and fax to Innovative Management at 615-595-5344. You can also contact Stormie at 615-519-2347. Someone will contact you promptly regarding your invitation. Q. Why do I have to fill out the form? A. The form helps us get an understanding of your event and how Stormie would fit in the program. Basically, it answers all of our questions in one place. It is essential that all of the questions be answered for us to make an educated decision on a given invitation. Q. I’m having trouble downloading the worksheet. What do I do? A. Just give us a call at 615-519-2347 and we will fax you a copy. Q. Why does Stormie have a manager? A. Stormie uses Innovative Management to handle all of the bookings because it frees her to do what she does best: write, study, travel and perform. Innovative Management enables Stormie to focus on her spiritual health, her family, her creative development, and personal ministry by handling all of the business details in a manner consistent with her goals and objectives. Q. Why do you require that I give you an offer for the honorarium? A. It helps us to better understand you budget, needs, and priorities when you give us an offer for the honorarium. We can then consider whether we can afford to accept the offer. If not, then we give you the opportunity to raise the offer, or work with you to find a time when our budget can afford your offer. We will do our best to work with you to find a way to make something possible! Q. Does Stormie do “love offerings”? A. We are willing to examine every situation individually. However, we do not make it a practice to do concerts for “love offerings”. Just as you have financial obligations, so do we. To properly budget for our obligations, we typically work on a fee base. Q. Why do you require a written agreement and deposit? A. We believe that a written agreement facilitates clear communication between everyone. It helps to protect the relationship between Stormie and your organization by specifying each party’s obligations and expectations in writing. Because Stormie is not employed by another company, we have to operate as a business, taking into consideration all of the issues any business would, including payment of services, quality control, insurance risk, transportation, etc. An agreement properly addresses all of these issues and prevents memory lapses at the time of the concert. A deposit is a means to guarantee a date. It says that you are serious about your commitment to hold Stormie’s availability. We typically request a 25% deposit with the return of your agreement. Q. Why do you have certain technical requirements? A. You are spending a good deal of money to bring Stormie to your town. It makes sense that you will want her to sound the very best possible. By having the proper time, equipment and technical help you are insuring that you are going to get the best possible performance. Stormie makes her living by performing. We hope that she will continue to perform for many more years. In order to develop a base of devoted supporters, we believe that quality control is essential. People should expect a certain level of quality at Stormie’s concerts and we wish to provide that every time. |
